I purchased this infuser, since I already have two other infusers which are quite big (5 1/2"). This one is excellent if cooking for 2-3 persons. I use it when cooking soups. It is especially great when making Hungarian Goulash soup, since it is just right for the caraway seeds, bay leaves and peppercorns. Again, for small portions. It is well made, good quality stainless steel (so far) and does not "leak" items into soups (caraway seeds stay put during the 2+ hour cooking session of "gulyas"). Very much worth the price! I am ordering two more, since if you cook these are necessary. And hey, they are more friendly than herb sacs.

I bought 3 for cooking and tea. 1 of them was broken out of the box. The other didn't have a good seal. I don't foresee the other two lasting.

With this cooking infuser, I do not have to use cheesecoth to tie together the seasonings for my soups. The shape and size of the mesh infuser take up very little space in the stock pot. I love the way it is made...and the clasp being secure...just simply awesome.
