We ordered this mat for our front door because we had a similar one in the past and loved it. However, this mat 'sheds' its material very badly. There are pieces of the mat all over our front step and walkway. I have to sweep the area daily. If I take the mat and shake it, so much falls off of it that I'm sure a bird could make a nest out of it. We loved the size, thickness and price but honestly, its not worth much now that we have it. Wouldn't have been worth the cost to return it or we would have. Will just give to Goodwill.

This mat is very thick - the thickest I've seen by maybe 20-25%. My only concern after several weeks of ownership is the "shedding". Lots and lots of loose fibers and some "tufts" of material falling out of the mat. If it doesn't fall apart prematurely, the fibers/tufts aren't a worry, since the mat's purpose is to scrub feet before gritty sand is tracked onto our hardwood floors - which is does very well.

This is just the doormat I was looking for. I wanted something plain, with no design, and that's sometimes hard to find. This is nice and thick and looks good, too.
