My daughter has been battling with different types of formulas since birth. I breastfed her for a month, my milk wasn't keeping up with her demand. So I decided to supplement with formula, the first was enfamil and she had really painful gas and was crying non-stop. Then I decided to try Enfamil Gentlease and she wouldn't even drink it. So I tried Similac Sensitive and she was doing o.k. on it she maybe handled it for about 2 months until she completely refused to take a bottle. Then I decided to try Gerber protect, gentle and soy...she wouldn't drink Gerber protect at all. Gerber gentle she would drink maybe 2 bottles then cry when i tried to give her anymore. Gerber Soy she could handle but, it made her extremely constipated and the ped. gave me a laxative to give her and it did not help.( I also did not like the fact that she had to take a laxative)! Well anyways i switched backto similac sensitive and she was fine other than her bowels still not normal due to the soy! Then she went back to crying and refusing her bottle...meanwhile through this process I have been contacting her pediatrician about this issue and got nothing back... I then spoke to the dietician at the WIC office and they have non-contract formulas you can get through a perscription from your pediatrician. So, I contacted my pediatrician and asked if she can write a perscription for Similac Alimentum, and her assistant called back and said that the pediatrician will not give you a perscription for similac because WIC doesn't cover it and your daughter is healthy! So I decided to contact the WIC office and let them know what I was told. Then I called back and asked again for perscription and let them know that my daughter was drinking only 6 oz in a day and she has been crying and in pain. So they scheduled me a appointment and FINALLY they diagnosed her with severe milk allergy. So I got my perscription and so far she has been a happy baby that enjoys belly time and is taking naps again. This fromula has been a lifesaver...You can get this paid for through WIC , they submit it to Medicaid and they pay for it. Then Apria Healthcare delivers to your door. 2 of the 6 can arrived dented. The packaging looked undamaged which makes me think that the cans were no dented as a result of shipping. I want to return the 2 cans, but am unsure how. The one star is for the fast delivery.
